ShelterZoom is bringing its invention, Contract of Things (CoT)—digitally interconnected contract and agreement elements that are interoperable—to the hands of agents and brokers at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Professional Realty. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Professional Realty, a full-service brokerage headquartered in Mason, Ohio, has more than $1 billion in annual sales, and will play a major role in scaling ShelterZoom’s reach in one of the key states in the company’s expansion plan.
“The smart contract management platform provided by ShelterZoom is going to streamline the workflow for hundreds of our agents and their clients by cutting down on paperwork, enhancing security of the transaction, and gaining market and contract intelligence, which was not available to us before,” David Mussari, managing partner at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Professional Realty, told RISMedia. “We have always strived to provide our agents and our clients with the latest advancements in technology and ShelterZoom’s cutting-edge solution is the latest addition to our toolkit.”
“Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Professional Realty is the perfect place to offer our first widespread implementation of Contract of Things,” Chao Cheng-Shorland, ShelterZoom co-founder and CEO, told RISMedia. “We know that their agents have strong presence in the local market and are already adept at using technology in their day-to-day business. They will set the stage in the real estate industry for the next generation of contract management.”
In addition, ShelterZoom announced Dan Donovan has joined the company, and will lead the business development efforts for the CoT platform. Donovan represented New York’s 11th congressional district from 2015 until earlier this year, and is a former district attorney (Richmond County, N.Y.), deputy borough president (Staten Island) and assistant district attorney (New York County). Donovan will manage new partnerships and revenue growth when CoT formally launches in early 2020.
“Having watched ShelterZoom grow and innovate over the past couple years, I’m thrilled to join them as they move into a groundbreaking new phase with the Contract of Things platform,” said Donovan in a statement. “What excites me most about the platform are the potentially unlimited use cases applicable to almost all industries. Coming from a legal background, I can see the immense potential CoT brings to agreements and contracts, which are fundamental elements of society. I’m looking forward to helping businesses and consumers across marketplaces, industries and borders to execute contracts in a new and ingenious way.”
“Dan will be one of the key players contributing to CoT’s aggressive move into multiple industries next year,” says Allen Alishahi, ShelterZoom co-founder and president, in a statement. “Having known him well for years, I am confident he will bring the right level of deal-making experience and gravitas to our company. His skills at spotting trends and ability to get things done will be important factors to helping ShelterZoom expand.”
