Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors Donates to 17 Bergen County Charities

Realtors® help make the dream of homeownership a reality for thousands of Bergen County residents each year. Realtors also work to build better communities where they live and work. In small towns and large municipalities across Bergen County, REALTORS® promote community values, giving their time and effort to the organizations that help provide vital services to all residents. The Eastern Bergen County Board of REALTORS® (EBCBOR) recognizes the importance of community support and recently donated $30,000 to local charitable organizations.

“EBCBOR is committed to the welfare and prosperity of the communities our members call home. Through our charitable contributions and community involvement, we strive to enrich Bergen County”, says Bowen Pak, 2015 EBCBOR President.

President Pak says, “The continued restoration of homes and services that endured storm damage in Hurricane Sandy is critical to long-term housing and infrastructure recovery in our area.” To aid in that goal, EBCBOR donated $6,000 to Rebuilding Together Bergen County.

Laura Rubinfeld, EBCBOR Chief Executive Officer says, “The relationship between the economy and community stability is closely linked. Bergen County REALTORS understand there is a constant need to support the organizations that provide essential services for area residents.” Rubinfeld says EBCBOR donates to more than a fifteen local charities in Bergen County in recognition of their contribution to the residents and families who benefit from their services.

In addition to the monetary donations, members of EBCBOR actively volunteer and collect donations for non-profits such as the Center for Food Action in Englewood and the Center for Hope and Safety in Rochelle Park. Annually, EBCBOR partners with the Family Promise of Bergen County to host a “Dinner with REALTORS” as part of their nightly dinner service program, which feeds more than 150 residents in need of financial assistance. Every summer, EBCBOR conducts a school supply drive which collects over $4,000 in school supplies and donations for students in need.
