Clever Ways to Entertain Your Dog

Having plenty of dog toys at home is just the start to keeping your pet busy.

Whether you’re away from the homestead or looking to take advantage of the great outdoors, the following products will keep your four-legged friend entertained—with or without you.

Petcube
This two-way camera lets you monitor your pet while you’re away. It also allows you to give your furry friend treats at scheduled times throughout the day—or whenever the need strikes. Fill the cube with treats before you leave for the day and watch them be dispensed via the app on your smartphone.

Petcube is even equipped with motion and sound alerts so that you can see just what your four-legged friend is up to while you’re away from the house.

Puzzles
While a quick internet search will yield a number of puzzles to choose from, the CleverPet Hub is one option that pet parents can get behind. Designed by cognitive scientists, the game console will keep Fido busy and out of trouble for hours on end. Set the console on the floor and it will provide your family pet with color-based puzzles to solve. Once a puzzle is completed, a treat is dispensed.

Ball Launchers
Automatic ball launchers such as iFetch and the GoDogGo Fetch Machine are two products that promote solo play; however, you’ll want to take advantage of the great outdoors with these products.

The iFetch, designed so that you don’t have to lift a finger, makes it easy for your dog to do all the work by placing a tiny blue tennis ball into the top of the machine. The ball is then tossed at 10-, 20- and 30-foot intervals. The top of the machine is tilted away from the launching hole to encourage your pet to stand behind it for safety when placing the ball into the machine.

Much like the iFetch, the GoDogGo Fetch Machine also has three distance settings. The machine has a safety arc and auto stop feature so that your pet is safe during automatic ball play. You can even set the time setting to four, seven or 15 seconds between launches.
