Creating the Ultimate Guest Suite for Holiday Hosting

Welcoming family and friends into your home during the holidays is one of the best parts of the season. Spending late nights and early coffee together in the comfort of your home is time well spent. Making sure your guests are comfortable in your home is the best way to ensure everyone enjoys the extended visit. Viewing your guest suite as an extension of your favorite five-star hotel will create a welcoming retreat for your visiting family and friends. Read on to find out how to make the ultimate guest suite for when you host during the holidays.

Help Facilitate a Silent Night
Installing automated blackout shades will help your guests sink into a deep slumber until they are ready to wake up independently. Then, when they’re prepared to wake up, they can raise the shades with the touch of a button so the morning sun can flood the room.

Offer a Four Seasons sleep experience by bringing Four Seasons bedding to your guest suite. The Four Seasons Signature Sleep Set includes a mattress and topper, sheet set, duvet cover set, duvet insert and two pillows.

Deck the Room With Linens and Toiletries
Set out a bath towel, hand towel and washcloths in an easy-to-find spot, and fill the drawers of an armoire or dresser with extras. Accompany the linens with a basket of toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, body lotion, deodorant, razor, floss, etc. Leaving a unisex robe and disposable spa slippers will help your guests feel at home as they get ready to face the day or wind down for the evening.

Ensure Their Electronics Stay Aglow
It’s easy to forget or misplace electronic chargers during the hustle and bustle of traveling. Create a charging station in the guest suite so your guests can have a designated spot to charge computers, phones and tablets. Also, provide larger electronics, such as a hairdryer, iron, or clothes steamer — it’s inevitable your guests will forget to bring at least one.

Create Space That is Calm and Bright
An area of the guest suite for your guests to lounge, catch up on work, or take a phone call is essential in every guest suite. Several seating options, an ottoman and end tables will complete the lounge area.

Provide the Resources to Explore the City Sidewalks With Ease
Give your guests the gift of self-efficiency by leaving a document with all the necessary codes for your home, such as the Wi-Fi password, garage door code or required building codes. Also include an overview of local coffee shops, parks, restaurants and stores so your guests can visit your favorite local destinations on their own. In the kitchen, have an easily accessible tray of breakfast, lunch and snack items, and one in the refrigerator of easy-to-grab fruits, veggies, meats, cheeses, etc.

In the guest suite, having a designated corner stocked with a coffee machine, bottled water and a small refrigerator filled with snacks will allow your guests to recharge in solitude.
