Jim Smith was trained as a journalist at The Washington Post in 1968. He has used the skills he learned there to build his brand and to educate the public and his colleagues about real estate.
Smith publishes weekly “Real Estate Today” columns in Denver-area newspapers and online that address a wide range of issues of interest to real estate professionals and the general public. He said that publishing the columns is his ongoing greatest accomplishment.
“Writing my column is my own ‘continuing education’ program,” Smith says. “As has been observed by others, ‘you teach what you need to learn.'”
For more than a decade, Smith has served on the Rules & Regulations Commission of a local MLS. He also served in the past on the board of his local REALTOR® association.
