Teams for Today’s Market

As an agent team leader or member, you know the advantages of the team concept first-hand. From servicing clients better to adding much-needed balance to your life, agent teams have become the best formula for many real estate professionals.

One thing you may not have fully considered, however, is how the agent team concept can serve as your best defense against today’s market difficulties. While some larger teams admit that they are feeling a crunch on overhead expenses-even releasing team members in certain circumstances-most teams are using the team concept to their advantage to drum up business and retain clients.

Take Jane Garcia of the Jane Garcia Team, profiled beginning on the front page of this issue. Thanks to the marketing prowess of teammate Jennifer Pugsley, Garcia walks into every listing presentation armed with the best market evaluation possible. Not only does this help the team secure more listings, but leads to sellers listing the home at the right price-critical to turning properties in today’s buyer’s market.

For Jerry Cibulsky, having a teammate means more time for him to work closely with sellers in order to match them with the right home. While his partner takes clients through the detailed process of contract to closing, Cibulsky is able to focus on making more deals-a survival necessity for today’s marketplace.
