C.A.R. Provides Access to New Digitized Library of Mandated and Consumer Disclosure Documents

RISMEDIA, Oct. 3, 2008-Real Estate Business Services Inc. (REBS®), a subsidiary of the California Association of Realtors® (C.A.R.), announced the availability of ePUBSTM for WINForms®, an electronic library of mandated and consumer disclosure titles, including the Combined Hazards Book. ePUBS for WINForms separates out the signature page and Earthquake Hazards Report of the Combined Hazards Book, 78 pages total, enabling Realtors to employ a green approach to the transaction. The new method allows clients to view the booklet on their computer screens, and only print the two required signature pages, rather than the entire booklet.

“ePUBS for WINForms is a quick, simple, environmentally friendly solution to providing clients with mandated and consumer disclosure material,” said C.A.R. President William E. Brown. “Earlier this year, C.A.R. created a Green Task Force to raise awareness and educate members and consumers about environmentally sound practices. ePUBS for WINForms is one approach, among many, that lies within the mission of C.A.R.’s Green Task Force and the Green Principles adopted by C.A.R.”

With an annual subscription fee of $36, versus $7.50 for an average paper transaction, and a valid WINForms Online account, Realtors have unlimited access to the ePUBS library, which initially includes six digitized disclosure titles, including the Property Transaction Booklet. Realtors can access the ePUBS library by visiting www.winforms.com. ePUBS for WINForms is available to approximately 85,000 WINForms Online subscribers, and a desktop version of ePUBS for WINForms is expected to be released next year.

According to data collected by C.A.R., Realtors can help save nearly 23 million sheets of paper each year by using ePUBS for WINForms to provide clients with mandated and consumer disclosure titles, instead of paper versions.
