With all the social channels available to use, knowing which ones are most effective are important. Although your first instinct is to immediately get on Facebook, times have changed. It’s said that the information retained in one minute of video is equal to about 1.8 million written words and as everyone knows, a picture is worth a thousand words.
This is why Instagram and other video and picture sharing sites are increasing in popularity. To successfully market a property to Millennials, it would be helpful to highlight the features that they are interested in. Share videos and pictures that will bring out the unique qualities of a property. It will allow them imagine themselves in the home and they will start to think about ways to make it fit their personality. Keep this in mind when you are posting listing information on your social channels, people have the tendency to show more interest in things they can actually see. Millennials, Generation Y, twenty-somethings—however you identify them, this generation is making their mark on the real estate world and agents and brokers should take advantage of it. And, fittingly, Homes.com is increasing our reach to these younger homebuyers, 260 million in fact, with a new national ad campaign. Stay tuned for the big reveal and tell us about your experience with Millennial homebuyers on our Facebook Page.
