Visual Storytelling in a Snap! Win Big with Instagram

Each day, new photos were featured, helping to spread the word about the contest on a daily basis. This also provided a great way to drive traffic to the Homes.com official website. More than 1,000 photos were submitted and the best shutterbug won a $300 gift pack.

Prizes are an important part of any contest. People want to be able to win things, and by rewarding the best photos, it helps drive participation.

Another Instagram contest Homes.com ran was Red, White & BBQ, a summer challenge offering people the chance to win the ultimate grilling package, valued at $1,500.

Throughout July, Instagram users were asked to post photos of “What Red White and BBQ Means to You” and some of their top grilling moments included Fourth of July parties, roasting s’mores over a fire pit and tailgating at the big game.

Each day, Homes.com selected a photo to be entered into a pool in which the grand prize winner was selected from. By having users share their photo on Twitter and Facebook as well, it brought more people to the Instagram site.
