The Engel & Völkers shop in Lake Tahoe, Nev., led by the market’s top real estate professional Jean Merkelbach, announced their sponsorship in this year’s American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, July 14-19.
Competing in the tournament are more than 80 sports and entertainment celebrities, including TNT NBA analyst Charles Barkley, NFL MVP and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, actor and musician Justin Timberlake, actor and comedian Kevin Nealon, and a host of current pro athletes and retired Hall of Famers. A few of the players include past and current clients of Merkelbach who has sponsored the 9th hole of the event for the past 15 years.
“It continues to be an honor for me to help support such an illustrious event and I enjoy being able to show how much I appreciate my clients,” says Merkelbach, whose sponsorship includes a catered tent where players can enjoy the 9th hole with refreshments while they do their part in raising money for charity.
The 26th annual American Century Championship is a made-for-TV event owned and broadcast by NBC Sports and is the premier celebrity golf tournament, which also raises funds for local and national charities. The event features a record purse of $600,000. The tournament is a 54-hole modified Stableford format that features some of sports’ and entertainment’s greatest celebrities.
