RPR® Releases 2017 REALTOR® Mobile Usage Report

Realtors Property Resource® (RPR®) has released the 2017 REALTOR® Mobile Usage Report, which shares findings from a survey of REALTORS® on mobile device usage, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) subsidiary recently announced.

Client communication and housing research top the list of mobile activities REALTORS® rely on most throughout the course of each workday, according to the report. Ninety-six percent of those surveyed agreed that using a mobile device to access housing data saves valuable time during the day, and 89 percent reported that they often use a mobile device to communicate with clients. Other mobile activities cited by those surveyed include financial calculations (44 percent), prospecting (34 percent) and client presentations and/or home showings (26 percent).

Eighty-seven percent of those surveyed, in addition, agreed that their clients prefer to receive new housing alerts and market activity reports sent directly to their mobile device.

“Consumers appreciate experiences that are convenient, quick and personalized,” says Reggie Nicolay, vice president of Marketing at RPR. “With a smartphone and the right app, REALTORS® are empowered to adapt their communication strategies to meet those consumer needs.

“In the age of immediacy, clients expect information to be delivered as quickly as possible,” Nicolay says. “The new Mobile Usage Report shows that savvy REALTORS® are quickly embracing new technologies to meet those consumer demands.”
