4 Spots Where Baskets Can Help Your Home Organization

An organized home feels welcoming and calming, and since clutter can adversely affect mental health, keeping your home organized should be a top priority. Thankfully, a clutter-free home doesn’t require outlandish organizing sessions. Adding baskets in a number of strategic spots throughout your home can keep clutter at bay without sacrificing your day-to-day routine. Here are four spots you should keep baskets handy to make your home look its best.

In Your Landing Zone
Between mail and school papers, your landing zone can become a pile of “to be read” papers and letters. Instead of letting them scatter across any flat surface, keep a small basket for mail. If you have school-aged children, consider an additional basket that you can use to collect papers that will need to be signed by an adult, such as permission slips. Naturally, the key with these baskets is to ensure quick action, so be sure not to allow important paperwork and junk mail to pile up.

In the Kitchen
Keep your kitchen in check with small organizing baskets for items like spices, supplements and vitamins. Any items that you need on the countertop will look far less cluttered when contained in a stylish basket, allowing for easy access to items without sacrificing design.

Coffee Tables
Remotes, video game controllers and other electronic accessories may need to be out to ensure a convenient entertainment experience, but they can cause visual clutter and make your living areas feel disheveled. Containment for these devices is key to ensure a clean-looking home. Bonus? The family will never have to pause movie night to search for the remote again.

End Tables
You likely have a few choice items on your end table next to your bed. For most, this includes charging electronics, but can also include books and puzzle books, depending on your before-bed routine. If you happen to have a large stack of balancing books, consider an aesthetic basket to store your favorite reads. You can also use baskets on end tables to hold items such as lotion, remote controls and even your charging cords.

The Base of Your Stairs
If you are tidying up the house but aren’t ready to stop your progress to take an item upstairs, keep a basket at the base of your stairs so that you can easily return items to their rightful place later in the day. This is a perfect temporary storage solution for small items like books, office supplies, shoes and toys.
