RISMEDIA, June 5, 2008-Coldwell Banker United, Realtors announced Wednesday, May 28, 2008, the acquisition of Sandlapper Real Estate Group and Dean-Kelby Realty.

Coldwell Banker United, Realtors offers real estate services in South Carolina, Florida, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi and Texas.

Sandlapper Real Estate Group has offices in Charleston and Mt. Pleasant. Dean-Kelby Realty has offices in Summerville and Mt. Pleasant.

Edmund H. Monteith, Jr., Senior Vice President for Coldwell Banker United, Realtors South Carolina Region believes this is the right move for the continued strategic growth of the company.

“In recent years, we have expanded our presence throughout the state of South Carolina and have offices in the Upstate, the Midlands and are now even more visible in the Lowcountry. We are very excited to have Sandlapper Real Estate Group and Dean-Kelby Realty as part of the United family and are committed to providing our new sales associates with Coldwell Banker United’s unparalleled technological tools and support systems to grow their businesses.”

President and COO Jeffrey Wheeler stated, “These two acquisitions are an actual part of the company’s growth strategy for the Charleston area. Building on the initial acquisition of Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties, we saw quickly how a well capitalized consumer driven company could quickly grow in the Charleston market place. Both Dean-Kelby Realty and Sandlapper are perfect matches. Additionally we have signed leases for two new office locations, a new location in Goose Creek, and a state of the art facility on Wappoo Road that consolidates both our existing West Ashley location as well as the Sandlapper West Ashley location.”

Sandlapper Real Estate Group is owned by Gettys Glaze. Glaze believes this merger will benefit the Charleston area. “I am excited about the opportunity to partner with the best global brand in the real estate industry. With the evolving condition of the local and national markets, consumers need every available tool to improve their buying and selling power, and I believe Coldwell Banker United has developed a service model with no equal. I’m looking forward to helping lead CBU in the Charleston market for many years to come.”

Dean-Kelby Realty is owned by Bryan Crabtree. Crabtree said becoming part of the Coldwell Banker Franchise is a great opportunity. “Given the nature of our market and the times we are in, I look for a company that’s solid and has strength. I felt that Coldwell Banker brought all of that plus more.”

Monteith said the owners of these companies will continue with Coldwell Banker United, Realtors in their personal sales roles.
