Andrew Levinson is a pivotal architect of professional integrity at Corcoran, guiding the firm through one of the most transformative regulatory periods in real estate history. As senior vice president and general counsel, Levinson spearheaded the implementation of the Real Estate Board of New York’s (REBNY) mandatory buyer representation agreements throughout Corcoran’s New York City offices. These reforms, born from the 2024 National Association of Realtors®’ settlement, represent a seismic shift toward consumer transparency by codifying how buy-side compensation is earned and restricted. Not only did Levinson draft these complex legal frameworks, he also conducted extensive hands-on training for hundreds of agents to ensure seamless adoption.
Beyond the settlement changes, Levinson played a critical role in navigating the spring 2025 launch of the FARE Act, managing the legal shift of rental broker fees from tenants to landlords. A graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School, he views these industry disruptions as opportunities to enhance agent self-reliance and ethical standards.
“As general counsel, I’ve always viewed my role as more than just protecting the business legally; it’s about upholding the values of Corcoran, supporting our agents, employees and clients, helping ensure that the real estate industry moves forward in a responsible, ethical way,” says Levinson, whose leadership ensures that Corcoran remains a model of accountability and clarity in a rapidly evolving marketplace.
