As senior vice president of marketing and sales for Homes.com, Erin Ruane was quick to offer support to all employees amid the COVID-19 pandemic. From enlisting a dedicated task force of managers and senior leaders, ensuring all teams were supported, to creating a comprehensive communications plan, her ultimate goal was achieved in developing a confident workplace culture in the midst of uncertainty.
The communications plan, dubbed ‘#WorkFromHomes,” emphasized compassion to ease the transition to remote working. Providing content that included remote training sessions, stress reduction webinars and practical advice to keep minds, bodies and spirits healthy, the program was a great success, garnering positive feedback from nearly 90 percent of employees.
By the end of 2020, in addition to successfully transitioning the sales and support personnel to a work-from-home environment, Ruane helped Homes.com achieve excellence in customer support and a record-high sales volume.
