Nykia Wright took center stage last year when she became the permanent CEO of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) in August, a role she held on an interim basis after former NAR CEO Bob Goldberg stepped down.
Wright was thrust as a newcomer into the industry at a time of turmoil post-Burnett verdict, having previously served as a successful business executive and former CEO of the Chicago Sun Times. She spent the early part of 2024 successfully leading NAR through settlement negotiations in order to end strife and push the industry forward. Despite the complicated landscape, she has stayed focused on rebuilding trust and evolving the association to better serve members and their consumers.
Working to restore confidence in NAR and the industry as a whole throughout the past year, Wright remains “committed to ensuring our association remains a powerful and effective voice for the industry, and to fulfilling our goal to bring the privilege of homeownership to more Americans.”
