Sharon Chambers-Gordon has a deep passion for making her community a better place for young girls and boys.
Her nonprofit organization, Raising Girls, raised over $125,000 in 2021 to purchase hygiene products to fill over 5,000 care bags for children and families in need. Her organization has also partnered with Tacoma public schools to distribute basic necessities to low-income children.
“People do have a heart of giving,” says Chambers-Gordon. “They just need to be asked and given the opportunity to give.”
Her efforts continued through 2021, as schools remained closed due to the pandemic, coordinating with the school districts to deliver bags weekly and have them available for pick up at e-school locations. More than 4,000 care bags were distributed to those in need.
Chambers-Gordan also received the National Association of REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award in 2021, which is only awarded to 10 REALTORS® in the country each year.
