What are RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmaker honors?
RISMedia’s Annual Real Estate Newsmaker honors are designed to recognize those individuals making headlines for their newsworthy contributions to the real estate industry, and positively affecting the communities and consumers they serve.

What are the criteria to be considered as an RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker?
Candidates can become an RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to: advancing the industry; impacting change; technology achievements; diversity and inclusion; business accomplishments and growth; humanitarian efforts; industry activism and support; thought leadership and influence; excellence in customer service; or innovation and creativity.

How frequently are RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers recognized?Newsmakers are announced annually on February 1, both in RISMedia’s Real Estate magazine and on rismedia.com in the Real Estate Newsmakers online directory. They are also honored at RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers Reception & Dinner, held in conjunction with RISMedia’s annual CEO & Leadership Exchange in Washington, D.C.

Can RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers be companies/organizations or just individuals?
RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers are individuals; however, these individuals can be representatives of companies, associations, teams, organizations, etc.

Who can nominate an RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker?
RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers are nominated by you—the RISMedia reader—and/or by RISMedia’s editorial team.

Who selects the winners?
The RISMedia editorial team selects the final candidates to become RISMedia Real Estate Newsmakers.

Can I be recognized as a Newsmaker in more than one year?
Yes, provided your accomplishments/contributions during the current year are deemed newsworthy.

Are RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmaker recognitions only for real estate practitioners?
No. Anyone involved in the housing industry can be considered for a Real Estate Newsmaker recognition, including brokers and agents; mortgage, title, insurance, home warranty and technology professionals; and more.

Are RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmaker recognitions only for residential real estate?
No. Since commercial real estate impacts residential real estate, those from the commercial sector can also be considered for an RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker honor.

Are RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmaker recognitions only for the U.S. housing industry?
While most recipients will represent the U.S. real estate market, those in other countries will also be considered for Real Estate Newsmaker recognitions as the housing industry becomes increasingly global.

What happens if I am nominated to become an RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker?
If you are nominated to become a Newsmaker, you will be contacted by RISMedia and asked to provide more information via an online form. This additional information will be used to further evaluate you for the Newsmaker selection process. You cannot be considered for recognition as a Newsmaker unless this form is completed.

What happens if I am selected as an RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker?
If you are chosen as a 2023 RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker, you will be notified by RISMedia in early 2023. Your status as a 2023 RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker will be spotlighted in the February 2023 issue of RISMedia’s Real Estate magazine and in the online 2023 Real Estate Newsmakers directory at rismedia.com. You will then be invited to attend RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers Reception & Dinner, held during RISMedia’s annual CEO & Leadership Exchange in Washington, D.C.

Can I nominate more than one person?
By all means, and please do! There is a limit of five nominations per company, however.

Can I nominate someone who was previously a Newsmaker?
Yes, provided that person’s accomplishments/contributions during the current year are deemed newsworthy.

Can I nominate myself as an RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker?
Yes. Just enter your information in the Nominator field and click the box to duplicate the information in the Nominee field.

When will RISMedia’s 2023 Real Estate Newsmakers be announced?
RISMedia’s 2023 Real Estate Newsmakers will be announced on February 1, 2023, both in RISMedia’s Real Estate magazine and on rismedia.com in the 2023 Real Estate Newsmakers online directory.

What is RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers Hall of Fame?
RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers Hall of Fame is a select group of Newsmakers whose accomplishments and contributions for homeownership have gone above and beyond the norm. This elite group is inducted into RISMedia’s Hall of Fame during the Newsmakers Reception & Dinner each year.

When and where is RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmaker Reception & Dinner?
RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers Reception & Dinner is held in May in conjunction with the annual National Association of REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo. The event is held at the prestigious National Press Club, 529 14th St. NW, Washington, D.C.

Who is invited to RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers Reception & Dinner?
The event is by invitation only. All those who have been selected as 2023 RISMedia Real Estate Newsmakers are invited to attend. Sponsors and select guests of RISMedia are also invited to attend.

How can I find out more about attending RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers Reception & Dinner?
