RealtorExposure.com: Generating Real Estate Leads Online in Today’s Market

RISMEDIA, Jan. 25, 2007-As the percentage of home buyers and sellers using the Internet increases, RealtorExposure.com states that it is imperative that agents and brokers also change their online lead generation strategies to accommodate the influx of users.

According to a study conducted by NAR, 77% of home buyers in the U.S. start their home search online and 68% of all home buyers use the first agent they speak to. The real question is why most agents are marketing to only 23% of home buyers.

Today, having an average real estate Web site and generating traffic through online marketing is just not enough. In the last two years there has been a dramatic spike in the development of real estate web technology available to consumers. Due to this, real estate agents need a Web site that provides innovative Web tools for real estate consumers. Most real estate consumers use the Internet as a resource tool to search for homes for sale, home value information, school information, neighborhood statistic, and more.

So how should agents and brokers generate real estate leads online? Successful online lead generation depends largely upon the ability to reach real estate consumers skillfully and capture their information in a cost efficient manner. Real estate agents should not invest in just any type of online marketing. This is due in part to the fact there are many other competitive online marketing companies with sophisticated analytic tools coupled with well practiced marketing teams that develop new online strategies on a daily basis. This great competition makes it nearly impossible for an agent to provide a cost efficient lead generating Web site.

What are the best methods of online marketing? Search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO) are the most optimal modes of online marketing. The following statistics support this statement: 81% of Internet users find Web sites by using a search engine. Thus 81% of home buyers searching online find real estate Web sites, through search engines.
