Slovenia Joins RE/MAX International, Franchising Rights Acquired by Local Entrepreneurs

March 31, 2007
Reading Time: 2 mins read

RISMEDIA, April 2, 2007-The latest addition to RE/MAX International is the central European Republic of Slovenia. With recent growth in Europe, RE/MAX increases its global presence to more than 65 countries. The Co-owners and Co-founders of RE/MAX Slovenia are Janja Ceh and Igor Horvat, who have seized this opportunity to bring RE/MAX to Slovenia with the help of Animacija, LTD.

Since 1989, Animacija, a family-run business located in the Slovenian town of Ptuj, has achieved numerous accomplishments in the fields of human resources management and education. Janja has been co-manager at Animacija while completing postgraduate work on a MBA at IECD Bled. Igor's career has focused on the field of international strategic management and marketing.

Igor became a believer in RE/MAX after reading the book "Everybody Wins: The Story and Lessons Behind RE/MAX."

He said he was "immediately impressed with the RE/MAX concept and its extensive global network. RE/MAX will be a success in Slovenia just as it is in so many other countries."

William Soteroff, senior vice president of International Development at RE/MAX International said, "Janja and Igor will make RE/MAX Slovenia a valuable asset to the RE/MAX International family. They are energetic and talented entrepreneurs who are destined for great success."

Slovenia is situated in the northwest corner of the former Yugoslavia, bordering Italy, Austria and Hungary. The Republic of Slovenia became an independent nation in 1991, and joined both NATO and the EU in 2004. With a population of only 2 million, Slovenia has the 29th highest per capital income in the world, which is the best among the new generation of EU members. Slovenia has been recognized as a model of economic success and stability for all the former Yugoslav republics.

Slovenia adopted the Euro as its official currency, and has been actively restructuring its laws to invite more foreign investment. Janja says "Slovenia offers a great opportunity. I'm excited to introduce RE/MAX to my country, because I believe the RE/MAX concept will offer the very best real estate services to the people of Slovenia."
