Raveis.com Now Offers Local Housing Data

November 19, 2007
Reading Time: 2 mins read

RISMEDIA, Nov. 20, 2007-As always, buying or selling a home in today’s market requires research. Through various multiple listing services, Web sites and town records, an abundance of information exists. But before becoming overwhelmed with thoughts of statistics, percentages, prices and ratios, consider this: raveis.com has already done the work for you.

William Raveis, chairman and CEO of William Raveis Real Estate, Mortgage & Insurance, announced the launch of “Local Housing Data.” According to the company, this new raveis.com feature provides accurate, comprehensive and free real estate market data compiled from various statewide multiple listing services.

“We’re very pleased to be able to offer this new feature through raveis.com,” said Raveis. “Visitors to our Web site will now have the added convenience of accessing a wealth of information through our Local Housing Data application, which essentially serves as an up-to-date, accurate reflection of today’s real estate market.”

Local Housing Data can be accessed directly from the raveis.com home page. Visitors are prompted to select a Connecticut or Massachusetts town of interest, and a type of property – single family, condominium or multi-family unit. Once these criteria are entered, several charts are produced, providing a visual snapshot of market conditions over the past two years. Graphs showcase total inventory, median sales price, unit sales, market time for sold and sales to list price ratio. The Local Housing Data feature covers all towns in Connecticut and the majority of Massachusetts towns. All information found in the Local Housing Data reports is updated monthly and available weeks before data compiled by other sources.

Also available through Local Housing Data are complete lists of home sales in each town spanning a three-month period. These lists include sale prices, listing prices and the number of days each property was on the market.

“Because all real estate is local, today’s consumer needs accurate data reflective of their local market, which they simply cannot receive from national and regional sources that have limited access to this information,” said Raveis. “We feel that visitors to raveis.com will find our Local Housing Data extremely helpful. Nowhere else on the Web can you find such comprehensive, reliable and timely local market data in such an accessible format.”
