The National Weather Service says Nashville had more than thirteen inches of rain in two days, which doubles its previous record. Many area homes and buildings have been destroyed and landmarks such as the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame are sadly at risk. The American Red Cross has already commenced providing services such as shelter and other assistance to evacuees and residents affected by the flooding, To help in this effort, customers of participating wireless carriers can text “REDCROSS” to 90999 to make a $10 donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
