The Readers’ Poll, conducted annually, compiles the opinions of the newspaper’s readers regarding the overall best in class for a variety of categories. The San Diego Life category included best of: college or university; place to get married; place to volunteer; place to work; public art center; and Wi-Fi hangout. The poll was conducted on the newspaper’s website signonsandiego.com during late spring through the summer months. Results were released in a San Diego’s Best 2010 tabloid section on August 29, 2010. Nominated companies went through an initial period of qualifying for the final 10 in the competition. Two local credit unions, San Diego County and Mission Federal, came in first and second, respectively.
