RISMEDIA, October 8, 2010—GE Appliances & Lighting adds another exclusive three-year appliance contract to its growing list of agreements with homebuilders signed in 2010, the company has announced. For more than 20 years, one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, Ryland Homes, has selected GE from a pool of major U.S. appliance manufacturers to exclusively provide appliances for its new homes across the country.

Ryland Homes builds more than 5,000 homes per year and serves 28 metropolitan areas in 15 states, including California, Texas, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Colorado, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina and Maryland. GE will provide GE® and GE Profile™ appliances for Ryland Homes, according to the company.

According to GE, Ryland selected the appliance leader for the strength of its brand, the quality of its products, and its nationwide distribution and service network.

“Having built over 285,000 homes across the U.S. since 1967, we felt compelled to go with a brand that shares our well-established reputation of quality, value and innovation,” said Steve Dwier, Vice President of Purchasing, Ryland Homes. “We’re excited to continue our relationship with GE, because we know we’re getting a great product with the style, features and performance our homebuyers will really appreciate.”

GE is the number one supplier of major appliances to U.S. homebuilders. In addition to a strong line-up of brands, GE offers builders high-tech solutions to streamline the purchasing and communications process and is backed by 1,200 factory service technicians and a nationwide delivery network.

“GE is thrilled to continue our 20-year relationship with Ryland Homes and looks forward to more successful years ahead,” said Matt Rose, general manager of GE Appliances & Lighting’s contract sales division. “There’s no question that when consumers shop for a home, they do a double- or even triple-take on the kitchen. We’re thrilled to have been chosen by Ryland and to have the opportunity, with our appliances, to give potential homebuyers just one more reason to purchase a home.”
