Randall, REALTORS® Affiliates with Christie’s International Real Estate

Home News National
February 8, 2012
Reading Time: 2 mins read

Following its recent acquisition of Page Taft Real Estate, Randall, REALTORS® is becoming an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate in Connecticut, as the family-owned company extends its sizeable reach into the coastal luxury residential market.

“We already have a significant share of the high-end market,” says CEO Doug Randall. “Page Taft, with its offices in Guilford, Madison and Essex, has been affiliated with Christie’s, so this is a natural next step in Randall, REALTORS®’ evolution in Connecticut.”

Christie’s International Real Estate only selects companies with leading shares of their local luxury markets, says Randall. “Now, we will have exclusive use of the Christie’s name and its extensive marketing resources south from New Haven in Connecticut north to the Westerly and Pawtucket line in Rhode Island.”

Christie’s International Real Estate is wholly owned by Christie’s, the world’s oldest fine arts auction house and includes affiliated brokers with nearly 33,000 sales associates operating from about 1,000 offices in more 40 countries. The network’s combined annual sales is about $30 billion.

In addition to Page Taft and Randall, REALTORS®, the Randall Family of Companies includes Kinlin Grover Real Estate, which has the largest market share on Cape Cod. It will not be a Christie’s affiliate, notes Randall.

The Christie’s affiliation complements Randall, REALTORS®’ current relationship with Real Living, a global network owned by Canadian-based Brookfield Residential, with another 25,000 sales professionals located across the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.

“While we remain passionately a local company with family-owned values and culture, we must expand our marketing reach geographically and demographically to best represent our clients,” says Randall, REALTORS® President Mike Schlott.

Today, The Randall Family of Companies represents 26 offices and 500 staff and sales professionals, ranking as the 129th largest real estate firm in the country, according to Real Trends and RISMedia. Almost all its offices are along the coast, where they specialize in high-end waterfront homes and can serve the Boston and New York second home markets.

“Strategically, we will be careful to balance the power of our local brands with the extraordinary Christie’s brand and reach,” says Randall. “On the one hand, we have unparalleled expertise and knowledge about all our local communities and neighborhoods, which is critical to new homeowners. On the other hand, with our Christie’s affiliation, we can attract the most exclusive buyers from around the world and powerfully market the beauty and amenities of the Connecticut luxury markets, especially along the coast.”
