Why We Are Reinventing Business…Again

Home Best Practices

At PCMS Consulting, we believe in pushing our clients to be proactive. We help them target business practices that are outmoded and ineffective. This is how we make our living, so it is critical that we take our own advice.

Our own business strategies warn us to avoid complacency. So despite continuing to grow and experience success, we are reviewing everything we do for our clients and for ourselves. We believe reinventing business operations is the most effective path to follow.

How do we improve efficiency, streamline workflow and refine our strategies? For us, it’s not an option to follow the exact formula that allowed us to prosper despite this tough economy.

As I’ve said before, the problem in our industry is that too many people are afraid to change, thus, they end up doing little to position themselves to better serve their clients. It doesn’t matter if its brokers serving agents and clients or consultants and vendors serving brokers.

The result is the same. A clear lack of value and substandard support leaves agents and their clients overwhelmed and unhappy. In 2012, we’ll continue to focus our energies on value and support. We believe these are the key elements missing in the industry, and its time to pick up the slack.

The real estate industry has to be willing to change. As I have stated many times before, those who are willing to change are succeeding and outpacing their competition. Unfortunately, when it comes to reinventing business, all too often, we hear the same tired lines:

– We know we have to change, but the timing isn’t right.
– Our agents would get upset if we did that.
– Let someone else try reinventing business strategies. We’ll see what happens and then make the call.

By embracing change, the reinvented brokerage becomes more attractive to agents and consumers. They realize streamlined operations and decreased operating costs. And, most importantly, they become the leader in their market.

Jose Perez is the founder and chief visionary of PCMS Consulting. PCMS provides innovative solutions leading brokerages require to enhance their market position and profitability.
