Sotheby’s International Realty Partners with Mobile Real Estate, LLC to Launch New Website

Sotheby’s International Realty, Inc. has announced the launch of its new dedicated mobile website, powered by Mobile Real Estate, LLC. The site, www.sothebyshomes.com, can be accessed through the web browser on any Internet-enabled mobile device as well as through a customized app, which can be installed on the home screen of select devices. The mobile website will provide Sotheby’s International Realty consumers with the ability to search for real estate on the go, in the palm of their hand, right from their mobile device.

Smart phone users can utilize GPS technology to locate properties for sale within their vicinity as well as search all MLS listings using traditional search criteria such as bedrooms and bathrooms. In addition, the site which caters exclusively to mobile users allows for an instant connection with Sotheby’s International Realty representatives via a click-to-call feature.

“Sotheby’s International Realty made the decision to go mobile due to the rise in mobile web traffic that now accounts for a significant portion of overall site use. Companies like Sotheby’s International Realty are defining the technology curve within the real estate industry, and we are elated to be part of the way in which they will cater to the growing demographic of mobile users looking for real estate information,” says Mobile Real Estate’s Founder and CEO, John Lim. “I also suspect that with Google’s Go Mo initiative, search rankings may be enhanced by offering a mobile version of one’s site. This means that most brands, brokers and agents will likely move towards providing a mobile platform within the next year.”

Prior to launch of the mobile site, Sotheby’s International Realty noted that approximately 17 percent of current user traffic originates from mobile devices. The company’s new mobile website allows them to now provide an impeccable experience catered specifically to this growing user group. Additional features of the site include the ability to view listings company-wide by utilizing standard search criteria along with specific U.S addresses, cities and zip codes. Agent profiles can be viewed, giving users direct access to an agent by phone or email, along with access to social networking links as a means to connect.

“This is an exciting tool both for real estate consumers in our market and buyers everywhere who want to purchase property in the markets we serve,” says Greg Tice, Senior Vice President and Brokerage Manager of Sotheby’s International Realty’s Santa Barbara offices. “It also provides the opportunity for our sellers to have listings presented to our global audiences in a user-friendly way. Whether searching for a home around the corner or a retreat that feels worlds away, our new mobile website offers a great way for buyers to begin their property search.”
