Considering the word “home” is the most popular search on Pinterest, Sesso says it’s definitely a social media site that more real estate professionals should be taking part in. He suggests pinning a board based on your agents and humanizing the team, having a board dedicated to open houses with really cool and different photos, and showing client testimonials with videos and photos.

Becoming Socially Friendly
When it comes to social media, Smith stresses the importance of doing some things that are “enter to win” and not “enter to get,” and that’s why sweepstakes and contests are a great way to grow engagement.

“Social media with the viral component—‘if you’ll enter this contest, you can win X’—is really smart,” he says. “People like to win, and on social media, this is a great way to get people’s attention.”

Heyo and Shortstack are both Facebook applications that can help a real estate pro create a contest easily and drop right into your network. Further, Homes.com has a comprehensive social media suite, Homes.com Social, which includes a sweepstakes element.
