Great Spaces Presents: The Best and Worst Neighbors of 2014

"Justin Bieber's Believe" World PremiereHit singles don’t necessarily equate to neighborhood popularity, as made evident when infamous pop prince Justin Bieber was recently voted the worst neighbor of 2014 in the eighth annual Zillow® Celebrity Neighbor Survey. Bieber earned the highest percentage of votes for worst neighbor in survey history, with 34 percent (that’s one out of every three voters) stating they’d least like living next to the Canadian popper.

So why doesn’t anyone want to live by the Biebs? He was booed out of his last LA home for his obnoxious partying, rambunctious late-night behavior and egging a neighbor’s house—a trick that cost him $80,000 in fines. While no longer in his Calabasas digs (those he sold to Khloe Kardashian for $7.2 million), Bieber currently rents an impressive glass-walled Beverly Hills bachelor pad with stunning city-wide views. The six-bedroom, six-bathroom house spans 6,537 square feet, which includes a seven-car garage and, weirdly enough, a glass bathroom.

And how much does this glass menagerie set him back? Oh, just $59,000 per month. Well played, Bieber. Well played.

Jimmy Fallon Lands Best Neighbor Spot

NBC Network Upfront in NYCSo if no one wants to live near domestic terror Justin Bieber, who do they want to neighbor up to? Apparently, the answer is funnyman Jimmy Fallon. With 11 percent of the vote, the “Tonight Show” host owns five units in a historic Gramercy Park condo-co-op building.

Fallon has been purchasing space in the building since 2002. He owns four apartments—several of which have been merged—and the recently purchased studio, featuring skylights and a stunning view of the park. Rumor has it, Fallon will be using the studio space as an office. Why so much Manhattan real estate? In February 2014, Fallon filled Jay Leno’s shoes when he began hosting NBC’s “Tonight Show,” which is filmed in Manhattan. However, if he feels like retreating to the country, he’s in luck; Fallon also owns an 1800s farmhouse-style home on two acres in Sagaponack, N.Y., which he purchased in 2011.
