Incorporating Pantone’s 2022 Color of the Year in Your Home

Pantone, which provides a universal language of color, recently announced its 2022 color of the year. Very Peri is a vibrant hue, a unique shade of blue with violet and red undertones. It’s a dynamic color that will infuse creativity and inspiration wherever it’s used. Very Peri is bold, demands attention, and has carefree confidence. So if you’re looking to give your home a refresh, consider integrating Very Peri into your home’s existing color scheme. Below are ways to bring this bold, bright blue into your home subtly.

Applied to the Walls
A little bit of Very Peri goes a long way. Using a Very Peri-inspired paint color in a small space, such as a powder room, will turn this small room into a tiny jewel box. Enveloping the entire room, from floor to ceiling, in the vibrant periwinkle hue will reinvigorate the room.

If the color is too vibrant, you can also have the paint cut to 50-75% strength, which will make the tone more subtle. Using Very Peri on the ceiling will bring the eye upward and is a unique way to incorporate the color without it being overpowering. Pairing it with a soft gray on the walls will create an exciting space.

Incorporated in a Pattern
Selecting a patterned wallpaper or accent chairs with Very Peri in the print is a more subtle way to fold in the color. Whether the entire room is covered in a wallpaper with Very Peri undertones, you pair a wallpapered ceiling with neutral walls, or you have accent chairs upholstered in a fabric with Very Peri hues, incorporating small amounts of the bold color will go a long way.

Accenting an All-White Room
A crisp, all-white living room framed by Veri Peri drapery is traditional yet contemporary and timeless, yet refreshing. The vibrant drapery will instantly become the room’s focal point and is a beautiful contrast against the neutral walls.

Laid Underfoot
Depending on the pattern, an area rug with Very Peri tones running through it can be a subtle or bold way to incorporate the dynamic color. The rug can be a subtle nod to Very Peri if used as an accent color. However, if you prefer a bolder, dramatic statement, opt for a rug with Very Peri as the primary color.

Accessorizing a Room
Since Very Peri is 2022’s color of the year, bringing it into every room of your house may not be the best choice. However, incorporating the hue in the form of small accessories is the perfect way to keep your home relevant. Whether it’s a small vase, a decorative bowl, throw pillows, or a lampshade, hints of Very Peri will make your home feel perfectly 2022.

Accenting the Exterior
Using Very Peri on the exterior, such as the shutters or front door, can offer a vibrant touch of color to your home’s exterior. The dynamic color can be a beautiful complement to shades of gray or white.
