Four Types of People to Put on Your Must-Thank List

Thank You Hand lettering Greeting Card. Typographical Vector Background. Handmade calligraphy. Easy paste to any background

There are four types of people every broker and team leader should put on their “must thank” list this holiday season. Outlined below are the people that influence and support your success—people that often go unrecognized for their dedication and hard work most of the year, not reminded enough of how critical and irreplaceable they are to your company.

Your Families/Children – Leading a company often involves personal and professional scheduling conflicts. While it’s important to express gratitude towards your family all year long, use the holiday season as an opportunity to thank them specifically for their patience and understanding of your complicated—and somewhat unpredictable—calendar.

Your Advisers – As a business leader, you need to surround yourself with people who can help you find the right answers. These individuals can span a variety of titles and specialties, inside and outside your organization. Take time to thank this group—your “cabinet” of advisers—for the support they provide you all year long.

Your Team – Be sure to make your full personnel team know how thankful you are as their leader each and every day. A Thanksgiving message, note, live remarks or video are great ways to show your employees that you care and that you notice the work they put in to help the company’s goals and bottom line. If you can, invite them to share their thanks and suggestions for the year ahead to reinforce an open mindset.

Your Mentors, Past and Present – There are a variety of people who have helped you get to where you are today. These may be people who mentored you early in your career, or could be people whose advice you still seek ongoing. Either way, get in touch with these important influences in your professional life and express your gratitude. Everyone likes being recognized for good deeds, and it could even open doors to additional networking or mentoring opportunities.
