RISMEDIA, March 31, 2011—Realtors Property Resource, LLC (RPR), a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Association of REALTORS®, announced recently that Metropolitan Regional Information Systems, Inc. (MRIS), the nation’s largest MLS, serving more than 40,000 subscribers spanning the Mid-Atlantic region, has signed an agreement to bring RPR’s national property database to its REALTOR® members.

“We’ve worked methodically for more than a year with the leadership of MRIS to demonstrate the member benefit and help them conduct their essential due diligence,” says RPR President Marty Frame. “We’re pleased to welcome such a significant number of members to the RPR system—particularly at a time when RPR has so much positive momentum throughout the country.”

John L. Heithaus, MRIS Chief Marketing Officer and head of product development, states “since the company was founded, MRIS has maintained a central focus: providing tools, information and resources to assist our customers to maximize their earning potential, while also enabling them to provide the best customer service possible. It makes sense to us that MRIS and RPR cooperate so that RPR may be an available option to MRIS customers who wish to use it in their businesses. We are looking forward to a mutually beneficial relationship.”

RPR is one of NAR’s key Second Century Initiatives, and is designed to be a parcel-centric, national database which incorporates multiple sets of valuable property information, such as tax assessments, deeds, mortgages and liens, schools, flood maps, aerial and geo-point imagery, and demographic and lifestyle information. RPR is also the largest database of foreclosure data in the industry, and aggregates that data along with the local active and off-market property information from MLS providers such as MRIS. The RPR system is a member benefit of the National Association of REALTORS®—with no third-party or consumer access—to help REALTORS® save time and money, and become more productive in their work with homeowners and homebuyers.
