RISMEDIA, May 24, 2011—For a seventh year, Realty Executives of Kansas City has been instrumental in fundraising and constructing a Habitat for Humanity home in Kansas City. This year’s house will again provide a home for a local needy, worthy family. This is the first home in a series of homes that is part of a new special partnership with HUD and the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

Realty Executives of Kansas City, along with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, have donated $60,000 to build a new Habitat for Humanity home in Kansas City this year. These two corporate sponsors have worked together on construction and fundraising for Habitat for Humanity Kansas City for five years.

The local Wells Fargo Home Mortgage manager, Tony Julianelle, helped facilitate the company grant of $35,000 to donate to the home’s construction. And Realty Executives of Kansas City, which is owned by longtime brokers, Steve and Nancy Summers, along with all of the local Realty Executives offices have raised more than $25,000 through golf tournaments, donations and other benefits to pay the construction of the home.

Realty Executives is donating time and labor to help complete the home during the next several months, the company reports. The house will become home to John Hervey, a Kansas City retiree, and his 13-year-old daughter Cyless. Realty Executives’ local offices have taken on eight build days where brokers, agents, their families and clients will volunteer their time.

“Raising money and building homes for Habitat for Humanity has become a passion for my family and this company throughout the city,” says Steve Summers, regional director of Realty Executives Mid America Region. “It is contagious once you feel the rewards of knowing your efforts assisted a well-deserving family find the home of their dreams. That is why we’re in this business, and that is why we enjoy being a part of Habitat for humanity.”

It’s this 66th Terrace neighborhood development that is called Habitat’s Pritchard Place, and is the first of its kind in the city. The development and construction of these five homes in Pritchard Place are a part of a partnership with the City of Kansas City, Missouri which has provided PIAC Funding for the street construction and HUD HOME Funding which assists with the construction costs of five new homes.
