Four Real Estate Associations Raise Online Property Data Quality Benchmark with ‘MLS Certified’ Program by Point2

RISMedia, June 16,2011—Point2, a leader in Web-based real estate marketing and listing syndication solutions recently announced that four additional current MLS (Multiple Listing Service) and Association clients have adopted the MLS Certified™ program. They are: San Diego County’s Regional Multiple Listing Service (SANDICOR), RealTracs Solutions Inc.’s Middle Tennessee MLS, Van Nuys, Calif.-based Southland Regional Association of REALTORS®, and Texas-based Greater El Paso Association Of REALTORS® MLS.

Live data feeds generated daily from all four organizations and syndicated by Point2 to its national syndication partner network of approximately 50 major U.S. consumer real estate portals now incorporate the MLS Certified™ logo with each listing.

The feeds include approximately 73,200 listings represented by 24,275 REALTORS®.

The MLS Certified™ initiative, announced by Point2 earlier this month, is designed to drive higher standards in property data publication on the Internet in the United States.

The program also aims to boost consumer confidence in online real estate data, with the knowledge that they are browsing, through their favorite portal, original, timely and accurate real estate listings that originate from the local Multiple Listing Service (MLS).

Listings featuring the MLS Certified™ logo have already begun to appear on Point2 syndication network partner portals.

“Timely property data is critical to building consumer confidence,” says Saul Klein, senior vice president, Point2. “MLS Certified™ is another big step towards that end. As consumer awareness of the MLS Certified™ logo increases, they will begin to expect it and look for it on their portals of choice.”

“Syndication with Point2 launched us into an era of automation and control over data online previously not possible,” says Ray Ewing, president / chief executive officer, SANDICOR. “MLS Certified™ is a powerful complementary component. There are far reaching benefits to its adoption on a wide scale by associations and portals alike.”

A number of additional Point2 MLS and Association clients have endorsed the MLS Certified™ program and are currently in the implementation phase, including three that Point2 expects will go live by the end of June.

Each day, Point2 syndicates more than 1.1 million real estate listings generated from nearly 240 MLSs and associations in North America, to more than 60 consumer portals, search engines, classified and auction sites, and delivers millions of click throughs, leads and online traffic reports each year back to the listing agents and brokers, free of charge.
