Dan Smith is a real estate author, speaker and strategist who operates his own boutique business. He provides his customers with individual service tailored to their schedules to achieve lasting results. Smith was a top-performing real estate agent in the resort market of Big Bear Lake, Calif. In the last five years before he sold his business, he averaged over 200 sales per year. In his last year selling real estate full time, he was ranked the No. 9 agent in the United States.
Smith came out of retirement in 2011 to train and strategize with executives, corporations and salespeople. He has spoken at thousands of events around the world, and has written three books, including the No. 1 bestseller “Failing Greatly: Your Guide to Achieving Success after Failure.” In the book, Smith describes some of his worst experiences, including declaring bankruptcy and almost becoming homeless, and explains how he bounced back in both life and business. Smith dramatically changed his approach, which has led to his current success.
“I decided to embrace the ideas of innovation and disruption, which led me to completely smash the business model I’d had in place for nearly a decade for one that was more in alignment with agents’ wants and needs,” says Smith.
“2018 has been a whirlwind for me,” he adds. “For whatever reason, opportunities suddenly began to present themselves, and I’ve tried to take advantage of every single one of them; however, my greatest accomplishment this year would have to be presenting the keynote address at the World Real Estate Congress in Dubai this past April.”
