Jessica Ingram-Bee is pioneering a radical solution to urban affordability by transforming how residents think about property ownership. Ingram-Bee spent 2025 serving as a central coordinator for the City of Boston’s Co-Purchasing Housing Pilot Program. This innovative initiative, which was featured in the Boston Globe, allows multiple households to combine their collective purchasing power to buy multifamily homes. Ingram-Bee was instrumental in developing the city’s official Guide to Co-Purchasing, a resource that equips buyers with the legal and financial frameworks necessary to navigate shared ownership safely.
By specializing in co-housing, Ingram-Bee has helped create a pathway for middle-income residents—who are often priced out by institutional investors—to build generational wealth. Her work transcends simple transactions, focusing instead on fostering intentional communities where owners share responsibilities like childcare and maintenance.
“Helping people, really helping people get homes and the connection to my local community is what I value most,” Ingram-Bee says.
Her efforts have not only expanded housing access, but have also provided a scalable model for other metropolitan areas facing similar crises, proving that stability and affordability can be achieved through collective strength.
