In 2021, Dr. Jessica Lautz studied disparities in home prices based on race and student debt, the effect of minority buyers’ lower home purchase prices on wealth gains, and differences in REALTOR® income and experiences based on gender, race and sexual orientation.
Lautz also looked at changes in how buyers used their homes during the pandemic. She was the lead author of the Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers and explored the effect of student debt on home-buying and generational trends among buyers and sellers and LGBTQ buyers and sellers.
“It is an unparalleled time for the real estate industry. The real estate market, housing affordability, low inventory and changing demographics have challenged our REALTORS® and homebuyers in incredible ways,” Lautz says. “It is inspiring to watch REALTORS® rise to the challenge and view these demanding times as an opportunity.”
