Michael Lane, president of showing management and market statistics provider ShowingTime, leads sales, marketing and business development for the Chicago-based company. A founding management team member, Lane has worked with many of the largest MLSs and brokerages throughout North America, helping ShowingTime become the technology provider for more than 950,000 real estate professionals in more than 250 MLSs.
In the last year, Lane has overseen impressive new growth for the company, including the expansion of ShowingTime in Canada, where more than 50,000 additional agents across the country now use the company’s solutions. In July 2019, ShowingTime also reached a new milestone: 300 million showings managed. Furthermore, the company acquired Centralized Showing Service in September 2019 to better serve the needs of the residential real estate industry, bringing together two established companies with a combined 43 years of experience helping real estate professionals and their clients.
A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and five-year naval officer veteran aboard nuclear submarines, Lane earned an MBA and Master of Engineering Management from Northwestern University. He was previously a management consultant with A.T. Kearney, conducting analytic problem-solving for large companies to improve operations and profitability, and joined ShowingTime at its founding about 20 years ago. Lane was promoted to president of ShowingTime in 2013, and he has shared his expertise and spoken at several industry events throughout his career.
