Real estate isn’t the only passion in Priyanka Johri’s life. The broker/owner of Woodlands Eco Realty in The Woodlands, Texas, she is also an avid animal lover dedicated to helping dogs and her community.
To that end, Johri owns and operates Pure Mutts Animal Sanctuary, a nonprofit providing temporary or permanent care for special needs dogs, including injured, abused, older and terminally ill animals. The sanctuary is on Johri’s one-acre property, and a portion of Woodlands Eco Realty’s income goes toward funding the cause. In 2019, Johri and Pure Mutts were featured in the local news, with her telling TV station ABC 13, “I feel like this is my calling.” Johri credits her clients and her success in real estate for playing a major role in the success of Pure Mutts.
But that’s not all. In addition to working as a REALTOR® and caring for special needs dogs, Johri also founded a pet-friendly assisted living home to solve the problem of aging owners forced to give up their pets. Residents of Acorn Manor Assisted Living bring their pets, knowing the animals will be safe at Johri’s sanctuary when they move on.
Johri is also frequently involved in community projects whenever a tragedy strikes, like the flooding in June 2016 when Woodlands Eco Realty served as a donation post. Or when, after shootings against police officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge, she invited the community to show love and support to local law enforcement.
