In March 2023, Whitney Finn LaCosta and her team successfully joined forces with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services to become Howard Hanna | Coach REALTORS®, and LaCosta took on the role of CEO. The two family-owned companies set up shop in the 1950s, with Howard Hanna opening its doors in Pittsburgh in 1957 and Coach REALTORS® opening theirs on Long Island in 1954. Since then, the two firms have developed from homegrown firms into heavy hitters in the national real estate market.

In addition to playing an integral role in this historic merger, LaCosta served as the 2023 board of directors chair for Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® (LeadingRE), which celebrated its 60th anniversary last year.

“The network has always had a truly entrepreneurial ‘we can do this’ spirit that comes from our membership,” said LaCosta during an interview with RISMedia in March. “Our mission dates back to 1963 when a group of quality brokerage firms, led by strong leaders, believed that by working together, they could do more business and better serve their customers and clients.”

And that mission has come to fruition many times over. Home to more than 550 leading residential brokerages representing some 138,000 sales associates in 70-plus countries around the world, LeadingRE has captured a strong position in the global marketplace.
