RISMEDIA, Sept. 14, 2007-The Chicago Association of Realtors® Board of Directors has selected Nancy Suvarnamani as Realtor® of the Year for 2007. A native of Thailand, Suvarnamani, ABR, CIPS, CRB, RSPS, TRC, was the first Asian-American President of the Chicago Association of Realtors in its 124-year history.

Currently, Suvarnamani is the president and broker/owner of Century 21 S.G.R., Inc., and has worked in real estate in Chicago for more than two decades. During this time, she has served in numerous leadership roles, including: chair, International Committee, Illinois Association of Realtors; and vice chair, International Forum, National Association of Realtors.

The Chicago Association of Realtors will honor Suvarnamani at its 124th Inaugural Gala on September 28, 2007, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Century 21 S.G.R., Inc. is a sponsor at the event.

In addition to her years of service to Realtors associations, Suvarnamani has held leadership roles in several specialized real estate associations, including Secretary, Asian Real Estate Association of America; and Secretary, Illinois Chapter, FIABCI (The International Real Estate Federation). She is also a member of numerous women’s associations, including the National Association of Women Business Owners and the Women’s Council of REALTORS®. She was named to Today’s Chicago Woman Magazine’s “100 Women Making a Difference” and “20th Anniversary Hall of Fame.”

The same dedication and enthusiasm that Suvarnamani exhibits in her professional life is reflected in her personal life and the community service she performs. She contributes regularly to the Easter Seals and the Thai Children’s Charity Fund and has been an Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC) Golden “R” recipient twice and four-time Sustaining Golden “R” recipient.

Suvarnamani’s contributions have been limitless since joining Century 21 in 1989. She has built a team of more than 100 employees from only five agents. Recently, she opened the Century 21 S.G.R. Learning Center, which provides pre-licensing real estate courses through the Chicago Association of Realtors. Century 21 S.G.R., Inc. is currently handling more than 350 units of new development, including the landmark Waterview Tower/Shangri-La Hotel.
