Boxing Legend Sugar Ray Leonard to Appear at Realtor Conference in Las Vegas

November 2, 2007
Reading Time: 2 mins read

RISMEDIA, Nov. 5, 2007-REALTORS® attending the 2007 NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® Conference & Expo in Las Vegas will have the opportunity to meet boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard. Leonard will appear on Thursday, November 15 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the all-new NAR Booth (#2633) to sign autographs and meet attendees during this exclusive engagement.

Leonard’s appearance at the NAR Booth complements the all-star conference program which features best-selling author Seth Godin, legendary football coach Lou Holtz, award-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin and comedian Bill Cosby, as well as over 700 exhibitors and 200+ education sessions. This conference also kicks off NAR’s year long Centennial Celebration.

Sugar Ray Leonard is one of the legendary sports icons of the 20th century whose very name epitomizes boxing and conjures the image of a champion. Leonard is currently the host and mentor for the third season of the critically-acclaimed television series, The Contender.

Having learned to box at the age of fourteen, Leonard’s illustrious career includes three National Golden Gloves titles, two Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) championships and the 1975 Pan-American Games crown. After winning a gold medal in boxing at the 1976 Olympic Games, he turned professional to help his family defer mounting medical bills incurred because of his father’s illness. Blinding speed, tremendous power and great charm turned Leonard into an immediate media favorite. He was also the first boxer to win world titles in five different weight classes, a record that stands to this day.

“Sugar Ray Leonard continues our tradition of having the best sports and entertainment legends appear at our booth,” stated Bob Goldberg, NAR senior vice president of Marketing and Business Development. “He is recognized not only for his boxing accomplishments, but also for his charitable work.”

In addition to hosting Sugar Ray Leonard, the NAR Booth will be the centerpiece of NAR’s Centennial Celebration beginning with the opening night reception on Tuesday, November 13 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
