Monty D. Smith to Provide Counsel to Trulia.com

RISMEDIA, Jan. 21, 2008-NRT LLC announced that Monty D. Smith, senior vice president for strategic initiatives at NRT LLC, has joined the real estate advisory board of Trulia.com. In this role Smith will provide counsel to the national real estate search engine on its strategy for delivering consumers a successful neighborhood and home search experience online. Smith joins a diverse, well-respected group of real estate brokers and industry leaders from across the country.

According to the company, NRT’s role in the development of a comprehensive online marketing strategy reflects the real estate consumer’s growing use of Web sites as a critical component of their home search process. To that end, Smith plays a pivotal role in defining, shaping and implementing innovative ways to leverage Web sites and programs within NRT.

“At NRT, our strategic vision is to make technology work for both the consumer and the real estate professional,” explained Smith. “By investing heavily in infrastructure, research and development, NRT is able to provide our sales associates with tools that are transforming the home buying and selling experience for their customers. Trulia’s efforts in this arena make them a valued partner for NRT and I am honored to serve on their advisory board with this distinguished team.”

The company says that fundamental to the Trulia model is the company’s interest in putting consumers in touch with the real estate professional most knowledgeable about the attributes of that home: the listing broker or agent.

“Since launching more than two years ago, Trulia has focused on providing home buyers and sellers with the best, most comprehensive real estate search experience on the Web,” said Trulia COO and Co-Founder Sami Inkinen. “Monty Smith will make an excellent addition to our already stellar advisory board, which counsels Trulia on how best to align our business with the interests of real estate professionals and consumers alike, in addition to offering a cost-effective means to market home sellers’ property listings online.”

Smith was appointed senior vice president of strategic initiatives for NRT in November 2006. Prior to that, he served as NRT’s senior vice president for relocation and client development. He began his real estate career in 1992 as an account manager for Burnet Relocation.
