How to Turn Your Cell Phone into the ‘Ultimate Real Estate Finder’

RISMEDIA, February 13, 2009-Real Estate One, a brokerage in Michigan with almost 1,800 agents, has announced a new mobile tool to simplify the consumer’s search for real estate. The company reports that it is the brokerage is the first agency in Motor City to offer Homes For Sale, a new patented mobile application powered by Smarter Agent.

According to the company, consumers will be able to search almost every listing in the Detroit area, using their personal cell phones, whether it is listed by Real Estate One or another broker/agent.

Consumers can be standing in their desired location and view detailed home information on almost any home for sale in that market at the touch of a button – including sales price, square footage, tax information, beds/baths, interior and exterior features-even pictures.

In addition to one-click searching, consumers can also search by city/state, community, zip code or by entering a specific address.

The application also features a “Call to See” button. With one click, the consumer will be transferred to an experienced Real Estate One professional who can answer in-depth questions or schedule a tour of the property.

“Going mobile with Smarter Agent allows our consumers to have real estate information at their fingertips. We are excited to provide our consumers with another fun and interactive way to search for properties,” noted Jodi Dines, CIO of Real Estate One.

The application is available for download from the Real Estate One website, www.RealEstateOne.com, as well as from their other brands’ web sites, Max Broock, www.maxbroock.com, and Johnstone & Johnstone, www.johnstoneandjohnstone.com. There, consumers will find a “Go Mobile” tool which will provide instructions on how to send the application to their personal cell phones. Users simply select their cell phone carrier, the make/model of their cell phone and enter their cell phone number. Instantly, the application is sent via text message and downloaded to the cell phone, in the same way as a ringtone or game.

This makes Smarter Agent the most comprehensive mobile real estate tool in the Detroit area, as well as the nation.

Smarter Agent can also be downloaded from:

– a consumer’s cell phone via AT&T’s Media Mall,
– a consumer’s cell phone via Sprint’s Get New area,
– the iPhone App Store under Real Estate by Smarter Agent
– www.SmarterAgent.com

Hundreds of cell phone models are currently available on AT&T and Sprint. Smarter Agent is also available on Blackberry Curve, World, Pearl, Pearl Flip and Bold editions, and the download is free for Blackberry across all four major carriers. Real Estate by Smarter Agent’s location aware iPhone application is also a free download. Windows Mobile versions, as well as other devices, will be added in the coming months making the application available to all consumers regardless of their cell phone carrier or device.

Homes for Sale cost ranges from free to $4.99 per month, dependent on your carrier, for unlimited usage billed directly to the user’s cell phone statement.
