Earning Designations, Certifications Are Key to Adhering to Code of Ethics

Home News
November 12, 2013
Reading Time: 2 mins read

NAR PULSE–As we celebrate the Centennial of the Code of Ethics, it’s important to remember that the Code plays an vital role in the observation of November as Designation Awareness Month as well. REALTORS® can earn 24 designations and certifications to assist in their commitment to represent their clients with the highest level of specialized skill. This is in keeping with Article 11 of the Code that states that REALTORS® shall provide their clients and customers with services that conform to standards of practice and competence expected for their real estate discipline. Make sure consumers understand your commitment to excellence, and ensure they know their dreams are in trusted hands.

Investment in Education Results in Raising Income
REALTORS® who earn a professional designation or certification earn $27,600 more than those who have none (2013 NAR Member Profile). Encourage your agents to complete an official NAR designation or certification to gain the necessary expertise to navigate the current marketplace. NAR recognizes November as Designation Awareness Month; REALTOR® University’s School of Professional Development & Continuing Education is offering a 20 percent discount on all online designation and certification courses. Visit REALTOR® University for details.
