RE/MAX University under New Leadership

Reading Time: 2 mins read

RE/MAX University (RU), is now guided by Amy Somerville, Vice President, Education and Training, the company has announced. Somerville, who has been with the RE/MAX corporate headquarters for seven years, will direct the activities of RU and all the company’s key education initiatives.

“Amy’s extensive involvement with our many education programs makes her the perfect candidate to lead RU into the future,” says Mike Ryan, RE/MAX, LLC., Executive Vice President. “Her experience with the RE/MAX network and her relationships with our brokers and agents give her a solid foundation to build upon as we develop new strategies for training our Affiliates around the world.”

RE/MAX University has its roots in the 1994 launch of the RE/MAX Satellite Network, the only real estate training platform to be broadcast via satellite. RU has built a training library of over 1,000 titles and is now a 24/7, on-demand resource delivered via the Internet to computers, televisions, smartphones and tablets.

RU has been recognized with over 150 international film and video awards for innovation and creativity. In 2014, for the third consecutive year, RU was named by Training magazine as one of the best among corporate-sponsored training programs, capturing a place on the prestigious Top 125 list.

“I recognize the great tradition that RE/MAX University has and I’m looking forward to the challenge of taking it to the next level. With the many advanced resources we have available, the possibilities are really exciting,” says Somerville.

In her most recent role as Executive Director, Education, Somerville facilitated broker and agent leadership training, designed curriculum content and presented as a lead trainer. She has also managed the company’s relationships with education partners and professional real estate coaches.

Somerville began her RE/MAX career as an agent and team leader at a brokerage in Albuquerque, NM. She joined RE/MAX, LLC in 2008 and worked in the Regional Services department before joining RU in 2012.
