Engel & Völkers recently announced the opening of its first shop in Richmond, Va., bringing the firm’s comprehensive global services to real estate buyers and sellers of the region. The opening comes with the union between the storied international brokerage and Select Properties of Virginia, a leading luxury real estate firm serving Richmond and the surrounding area.

Douglas C. Dorsey, who brings over three decades of experience working in the market, is the owner of the new shop in Richmond. The new shop will bring 27 agents to Engel & Völkers Richmond, further solidifying the firm’s presence in the growing Virginia marketplace.

“Following the launch of Engel & Völkers shops in Tysons and Lansdowne earlier this year, Richmond, with its natural beauty, rich historical and cultural offerings, and dynamic job market, presented itself as the ideal location to further our Southern footprint,” says Anthony Hitt, CEO of Engel & Völkers North America. “The firm’s experience, expertise and inherent knowledge of the Virginia marketplace will seamlessly combine with Engel & Völkers’ global network to best serve the comprehensive real estate needs of the greater Richmond area.”

Engel & Völkers Richmond will provide leading services for buyers and sellers of premier properties in Richmond and its surrounding counties. Richmond is emerging as a key residential destination for global buyers, who are attracted to the region’s abundance of green space and the James River, historical Monument Avenue, thriving arts community and low cost of living. The area’s large law firms and Fortune 500 companies such as Dominion Resources, CarMax, Genworth Financial and Altria Group are also bringing new buyers to the area.

“As the Richmond real estate market continues to evolve at a rapid pace, we anticipate a growing demand for top-tier service from local and foreign buyers drawn to the area,” says Dorsey. “Engel & Völkers will provide a key counterpart to our diverse clientele with its renowned level of service, experienced global network of real estate advisors and cutting-edge systems and resources.”

With the opening of shops in Atlanta, Austin, Houston, Beverly Hills, St. George, Long Beach, LA – South Bay, Minneapolis and Concord and, in Canada, Victoria, Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver Island, Toronto and York, Engel & Völkers continues to strengthen its presence in the premium real estate market across North America. Additionally, Engel & Völkers continues to expand throughout the United States with planned openings in several new markets.
