Weichert, Realtors Annual Charity Event Raises Record Funds for American Cancer Society

Weichert, Realtors raised a record $172,000 at its 17th Annual Charity Outing in support of the American Cancer Society (ACS) and breast cancer research, the company recently announced. The funds surpassed all previous years’ donations. Weichert has raised a total $1.212 million since the event’s inception in 2001.

“This outing marked an incredible, record-breaking year of contributions raised since the beginning of Weichert Realtors’ 17-year endeavor to help fund breast cancer research,” says Robyn Barone, event chairperson and regional vice president for Weichert, Realtors. “Not only did we see more dedicated involvement than ever before in sponsors, donations, participants and volunteers, but I am also incredibly proud of our residential sales offices and the hundreds of people who raised additional funds across multiple states by holding their own unique events.”

The event, held at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, N.J., included more than 230 golfers, “Member for the Day” packages, “A Day at the Spa” option, and tennis enthusiasts, with a buffet luncheon and three-hour cocktail reception. The evening banquet hosted awards, prizes and a silent auction. Over 43 volunteers helped make the event a success, with TV and radio personality Bill Spadea as the emcee. As a reminder of the true importance of the Charity Outing, special guest speaker and breast cancer survivor Darlene DiSabatino bravely shared her story and battle with attendees.

Nearly 60 organizations supported the event through various forms of sponsorship. Top sponsors included HMS Home Warranty, New Jersey Skylands Insurance, Radian, Travelers, UNIRISC and EMS. Other sponsors included Arch MI; Armstrong Moving; Arpin Group, Inc.; Bank of Oklahoma; BMW of Springfield; Centric Benefits Consulting; Customers Bank; Essent Guaranty; Hampton Construction; Hanover Insurance Group; Innovative Communication Concepts (ICC); Lexus of Route 10; Mark Mullen, Esq.; Maserati of Morris County; Mercedes Benz of Morristown; Merrill Lynch; Mizuho Securities; Morgan Engineering; MSS, Inc.; Narragansett Bay Insurance Company; New World Van Lines; Office Depot/Office Max; The Padded Wagon; Paul Miller Audi; The Philadelphia Contributionship; Presidio; Priority Search Services and State Capital; Prism Digital Communication and Wells Fargo.
