No-Fuss Decor Ideas to Beat the Winter Blues

Those long winter nights and cloudy winter days are upon us. If you are finding yourself in a sea of grey, now is the time to beat those winter blues with some easy decor ideas to brighten up your day.

Bring on the Pastels
Traditionally, pastel colors are associated with spring decor trends, but this winter, bring in some freshness to your home by mixing traditional winter colors with their pastel counterparts. Deep and rich cranberry and navy colors can be complemented with a soft brushed rose or a powered blue. Just remember to use these pastels as accents and limit them to small pops of color throughout your home.

Add String Lights
White or off-white string lights add a soft glow and cozy accent without requiring installation or too much fuss. Opt for LED lights to save on your winter electric bills and bring in a little more light during the dark winter season.

Faux Fur
Popular even outside the winter season, faux fur is having its time in the spotlight. Trendy and comforting, faux fur is the perfect winter accessory for your home. Use faux fur rugs, pillows and throws to quickly add warmth and texture to your winter decor.

Cable Knit
Nothing is as cozy as a warm sweater during the winter season. A good cable knit featured on a pillow or blanket can create a warm and welcoming feel in your home.

Gold and Bronze
Adding modern metal accents of gold and bronze can brighten up your space while adding more visual interest. Using these tones can heighten the sensation of warmth even during those cold winter months.

Jewel Tones
While pastels can serve to brighten up dull areas, jewel tones provide a rich backdrop for all the warm accents that pair perfectly with winter colors. Rich cranberries, deep navy blues and velvety emeralds are the ideal pallet for winter.

Simple accents like these can bring warmth and light to your home even during the dim grey days of winter.
