The Stevie® Awards today announced the Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie winners in The 18th Annual American Business Awards®.
All organizations operating in the U.S.A.—large and small, public and private, for-profit and non-profit—are eligible to submit nominations to the ABAs in a wide range of categories, honoring achievement in every aspect of work life, from customer service and management to public relations and product development. More than 3,600 nominations were reviewed in the judging process this year by 230 professionals worldwide, whose average scores determined the winners.
The National Association of REALTORS® was honored with eight “STEVIE® Awards” by the American Business Awards®. After enduring a review and selection process conducted by more than 250 worldwide professionals, eight separate NAR initiates were selected from more than 3,600 total nominations for the latest ABA honors. NAR’s 2019 Leadership Summit, its “That’s Who We R” Consumer Advertising Campaign and HouseLogic.com each received the highest honors bestowed annually by ABA, in addition to specific recognition received by a handful of additional NAR initiatives.
NAR’s Leadership Summit was the recipient of the Conferences and Meetings Gold STEVIE® Award for Association Meetings. This annual event brings roughly 1,700 local and state REALTOR® association leaders to Chicago to set the goals and tone of the year ahead. Held from August 12-14, 2019, ABA recognized NAR’s efforts to drive audience attention, engagement and meaningful, relevant takeaways.
NAR’s “That’s Who We R” Consumer Ad Campaign also received a Gold STEVIE® Award for Marketing Campaign of the Year. Designed to highlight the distinction between real estate agents and REALTORS®—members of NAR who abide by the association’s Code of Ethics—the campaign proved remarkably effective. Data from a third-party market research firm showed a double-digit increase in those who said they’d choose a REALTOR® over a real estate agent because of the ad campaign, while also increasing the share of those who believe a REALTOR® is “an expert when it comes to home buying and selling.”

We’re proud to receive external recognition for our work to promote our members’ philanthropic efforts, enhance their leadership capabilities and solidify America’s REALTORS® as local real estate experts and community leaders,” said NAR President Vince Malta, broker at Malta & C, Inc., in San Francisco, Calif. “As our nation and this association navigate the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we’re strengthening our focus on delivering new, innovative solutions that help make our members the most successful, profitable and impactful professionals they can be.”
RE/MAX was also awarded. Judges stated the following regarding the recognition:
“RE/MAX has focused on its efforts at building the essential tools to better the services of all its member franchisors. This is the proper focus and mission, rather than just focusing on adding on franchisees, etc. Nice work.”
“Good read and it shows how a company can turn around under good leadership. A business leader is not about power but empowering people to achieve great heights.”
“To take a company to greater heights requires both mission and vision, which Mr. Contos has, and which is evident from the described success of what he has achieved thus far. With innovative ideas and out of the box thinking, RE/MAX Holdings is deepening its roots in the world of real estate. I wish him all the best.”
“Great initiative and project for the industry. I like the fact that the organization took hold of their destiny and brought the technology inhouse.”
